For Authors

Italian Political Science is an open-access journal publishing research on contemporary Italian politics from a Political science perspective.

This journal only publishes manuscripts in English (in some cases with Italian translation).

The editors of Italian Political Science (IPS) invite authors to submit the following types of articles:

  • Research (maximum 6,000 words) – cutting-edge articles on current trends and developments in Italian politics (also in comparative and European perspective). Articles aimed at this section should be informative, intellectually stimulating and conceptually rigorous. We cannot accept papers based on simple assertion.
  • Profession (maximum 4,000 words) – articles about the state of the discipline in Italy and beyond and where it is heading, teaching and learning Political science, research in the field and its assessment, relations between academia and society.

All contributions are accepted on the understanding that they are the original work of the author(s).

Peer review policy

Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the aims and scope of IPS will be reviewed.
Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editors, it will then be peer-reviewed by independent, anonymous expert referees.
