As part of the ECPR-SGEU 8th Pan-European Conference on the European Union, Trento, Italy, June 16-18, 2016, Marcello Carammia (University of Malta) and Sebastiaan Princen (University of Utrecht) are organising a section on «Policy making in the European Union» (Section 5). The call for panel and paper proposals is now open. The deadline for the submission of paper proposals is on October 14, 2015.
The section focuses on policy-making in the European Union in a broad sense. This includes processes of agenda-setting, decision-making and policy implementation, as well as the roles of the various institutions and actors in these processes, lobbying and inter-institutional relations. The panel convenors invite qualitative and quantitative contributions, in-depth case studies, and extensive quantitative analyses. Contributions analysing multi-level institutional and policy dynamics, including Europeanisation, could also be presented. Panels that promise to advance the theoretical and empirical understanding of EU institutions and policy-making processes, or that propose innovative methodologies, will be especially welcome.
The deadline for application is October 14, 2015. Please check the Conference Website for all info, key dates and deadlines, list of sections and latest news, but do not hesitate to contact the convenors if you need further information.
